JOB DESCRIPTION

Job Title:                    PARTNERSHIP DEVELOPMENT MANAGER

Grade:                        APT&C Scale PO4 Point 42 -45

Salary:                        £34,140 - £36,657 (Subject to review)

Responsible to:         Director of Sport

Job Purpose:

The Partnership Development Manager (PDM) post is a full time post responsible for the strategic development of the School Sport Partnership and liaison with external agencies.  The PDM role is integral to the National PE and Sport Strategy for Young People (PESSYP) and is a key factor in enabling and supporting schools to meet the joint DCSF and DCMS 5 hour offer for all 5-19 year olds.

Overall Functions:

  • Manage the partnership’s infrastructure
  • Manage the production, implementation and evaluation of a partnership development plan
  • Manage links with strategic partners
  • Manage the partnership’s financial and administrative procedures
  • Ensure that ALL young people are included in the partnership’s physical education and sport programme
  • Ensure the work of the partnership is sustained through links with other agencies.
Specific Functions:
  1. To engage and maintain the support of the Headteachers in the partnership
  2. To liaise with Headteachers in the partnership in the identificaton, appointment and development of School Sport Co-ordinator, Specialist Link Teacher and Primary Link Teacher posts.
  3. To ensure that the work contained in the partnership development plan complements strategic planning in schools and links with local education, sport and health priorities.
  4. To liasise with key partners such as the local education authority, sports development, national governing bodies of sport etc.
  5. To manage a local programme of continuing professional development for those contributing to the work of the partnership.
  6. To provide functional management of the School Sport Co-ordinators and support to Primary Link Teachers
  7. To sit on and report to the partnership’s steering group
  8. To establish and maintain regular communication between all interested parties
  9. To promote the benefits and successes of the partnership
  10. To identify and attract additional sources of funding to support development activity
  11. To fulfil the requirements of the national data collection process
