ZOOLAB UK visit to Crown Hills

ZOOLAB UK visit to Crown Hills 29/4/2021

On Thursday 29th April, the SEND department had a visit from Zoolab UK. This is part of a project being funded by the Sheila Coates Foundation to support young people with ASD to settle back into school following lockdown.

Zoolab UK delivered a ‘Senses and Textures’ workshop to small groups in years 7, 8, and 9. Each group saw 4 different animals, and were taught about the animals and how they live.

The students met giant stick insects, giant snails, a giant millipede, a tarantula, a corn snake and a rabbit.

Most of the students (and staff!) overcame initial fears and stroked some of the animals, and even held Nagini the snake!

It was an absolute pleasure to see how excited and brave the students were, and they were an asset to the College.
